Este es el pack que hice hace un par de meses para el primer disco de las Kellies, "Shaking Dog!":



La banda tenía muy claro lo que quería, lo cual está bueno a veces (ya les voy a contar cómo fue el proceso del nuevo disco de Nikita Nipone "Una Oración").





Esta es la muestra que me mandaron:



...junto con unas fotitos minúsculas de algunos discos de los Ramones.



Como verán yo hice poco y nada pero mi mayor mérito fue creo haberlas convencido de editar el CD un poco más profesionalmente y no en CDR + fotocopia como tenían planeado (las muy punk)!

Las Kellies tienen un MySpace y "Yo" es también Doble B.

"Annunciation is the first painting I painted after my initial New York awakening. I was 28 years old and at the peak of my molecular bio-energy. You can feel the sudden burst of the Big Apple's electric zap in the composition after all the early years of adolescent brooding over potatoes and eggs and the romantic nostalgia of the preceeding Flight to Egypt.

In those days I had an obsessional passion for the female body that lasted deep into my thirties (to be replaced by rocks 'n' stones).

Years later Carlos Santana saw a reproduction of the Annunciation in a magazine and wanted it for the cover of his all time best selling Abraxas album. It did me a world of good. I saw the album pinned to the wall in a shaman's mud hut in Niger and inside a Rastafarian's ganja hauling truck in Jamaica. I was in good global company, muchissimas gracias, Carlito!"

Hasta ahora sólo había visto la tapa del disco vacía (arriba) y no entendía muy bien qué había querido hacer, faltaba algo.



Ahora veo que el disco viene con varias stickers para que cada uno arme su propia tapa.



La idea en sí no es nada del otro mundo pero las ilustraciones están muy buenas y así al menos tiene mucho más sentido que el papel milimetrado en blanco.

MIA revienta la paleta a la MS Paint. Audaz pero se fue al carajo. No sé porqué sospecho que lo diseño todo ella misma. Para más diseño carajista no se pierdan la web (y los wallpapers!) y el último video.

El disco sale primero en Japón el 8 de agosto, luego el 20 en UK y el 21 en USA.

If this review could be one word long, that word would be "enchanting." Camera Obscura has always been lovely but they've made the jump to truly enchanting with their third album, Let's Get Out of This Country. Stepping fully out of the shadow of their onetime patrons Belle & Sebastian, the group has composed and performed an album that is comparable to B&S' best and ranks with the best indie pop albums ever.
